About UsingMiles

How can we help you?

To simplify people’s lives and improve utilization of loyalty currencies, UsingMiles aggregates all of a family’s memberships and loyalty programs – programs like LivingSocial, Starbucks, United MileagePlus and Kroger Rewards – into a single dashboard. Points, miles and credits are organized to use like cash, as 2nd currencies available to spend.

Our sophisticated technologies deliver tools and tips to help members optimize their loyalty programs – what they earn and how they redeem – for free stuff with miles and points. UsingMiles protects member’s miles, points and reward credits against expiration. More importantly, UM provides tools to help members earn more rewards and find efficient way to spend them, like a secondary currency.

With the Premier Membership, members get access to thousands of bonus deals across all of their programs and can search for paid and award inventory (airline and hotel) simultaneously to get the best deal. UsingMiles’ search engine connects members directly with the airline, hotel or booking agency to complete their transaction.

Why UsingMiles.com?

Like all good things in life, UsingMiles.com was created to solve a real problem. Our founder, Krista Paul, lost over 26,000 miles in a single program and wondered why there wasn’t a better way to manage all her loyalty programs in one place. Krista’s ultimate vision is to help members discover easier ways to earn more points and redeem them wisely – be it for travel, merchandise or experiences.

How do you manage my programs?

When you provide us with your account login information, we are able to establish a secure connection with the specific loyalty program’s website. This allows UsingMiles to retrieve and organize your account and transaction information securely and automatically in one safe place. You also get monthly account statements and expiring miles notices so you don’t end up in a pickle, like Krista!

Is it secure?

Security is our top priority, period. We take great care making sure your data is protected on UsingMiles.com, so you can feel safe knowing your information is encrypted and protected. All of your web browser communication is secured with SSL 3.0 using an Extended Validation (EV) certificate from Verisign. User loyalty program passwords are transferred and received on our site using reversible AES encryption and stored in a secure database. Please review our Privacy Policy for the full scoop.

Why can’t I find my airline, hotel, credit card or other loyalty program?

We’re adding new programs every day, and your member requests guide the priority of specific programs being added to the development list. Please email program requests to [email protected], and we’ll get on them as fast as we can! The more programs, the better… so tell us which ones you want on the site!

How do I add family members to my account?

UsingMiles provides users with the ability to “tag” their accounts with specific nicknames so you can add your entire family to your dashboard. Click on “Add Program” from your dashboard and select the programs you would like to add. Under “Account Owner,” tag the loyalty program with the rightful owner. Examples include, “My Wife’s Account-12345”, “John’s Account-54321”, etc.

Why Can’t I add Southwest or American Airlines?

Currently Southwest and American Airlines do not allow third party sites to manage their user’s frequent flyer accounts. We are working to change this so you can keep your full loyalty portfolio more organized. In the meantime, you can manually add Southwest Airlines to your account. Simply search for it under “Add Programs” and add your program information manually. This option is not currently available for American Airlines, but we are working on a better solution, so please be patient with us.

Please feel free to contact Southwest Rapid Rewards at 1-800-445-5764 or American Advantage Customer service at 1-800-882-8880 and ask them to allow you to manage your miles and credits wherever it is most convenient for you.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

Click on the “Forgot password” link within the home page log in area. We will send password reset instructions to the email address you have on file at UsingMiles.com.

One of my programs isn’t working on your site. What do I do?

The number one reason for this error is invalid credentials. Please make sure that you can login to the loyalty program’s website with your credentials and see your account balances. It is also possible that the loyalty program’s website is unavailable. If you are currently able to access your loyalty program through the loyalty program’s website using the credentials you provided UsingMiles.com, please let us know, and we will do our best to fix this issue immediately.

I can’t remember my frequent flyer log in information. Where do I find it?

Your frequent flyer information is always accessible through the airline, hotel or loyalty program website. If you can’t remember your information, please contact the airline or hotel to retrieve it. Most of them will allow you to email or call them to get your account information. You can find this ‘supplier contact’ information located conveniently on each program page, so even if you don’t have your login credentials, add the programs to your dashboard, and we’ll help connect you with the supplier websites.

How to delete my account?

We’re sorry that you’re leaving. If you are concerned about security, please be assured that your security is our top priority. If you are unsatisfied with another aspect of the website, please let us know, as we are a new company and hope to deliver the most valuable service with your feedback and support!

However, if we can’t change your mind, to delete your account you’ll need to log into your account. After you log in, click on the “Profile” link at the top right. Scroll to the bottom of that page and you’ll see a “Delete my account” button (bottom left of the page).

How Long Will It Take for a Customer Service Response?

We strive to answer your questions as soon as we have identified the problem (usually within a day or so). To get your issue resolved as quickly as possible please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you have a valid, online account with your loyalty program
  2. Make sure you can log into the official website of your loyalty programs using your credentials
  3. If so, use those exact same credentials when entering account information on UsingMiles.com

If this does not fix the problem, or you’ve already attempted this:

  1. Add the program as you normally would in UsingMiles.com
  2. Choose the “Finish Later” link, rather than “Add Program”
  3. Send us the e-mail address that is associated with your UsingMiles.com account so we can troubleshoot your specific account/problem.

We welcome all questions, comments, business ideas and feedback, and the best way to get in touch with us is by clicking on the feedback link in the footer of UsingMiles.com. Depending on the nature of your question, it will get forwarded to the appropriate team and you will usually be contacted in 48 hours or less.

The e-mails I’m receiving/the website are not displaying properly?

Though we have made every effort to create a website that is cross-browser compatible, it’s hard to predict all the bugs associated with all the available browsers. UsingMiles.com works well with all modern browsers so if something doesn’t seem right, please tell us what browser/version and e-mail client you are using. You can post feedback by clicking the “feedback” link at the footer of the UsingMiles.com Website.
